Nightlife

Left work early today. Said I was sick. It feels that way. Like I'm sick. I wish I was.

I only just found out: Hank is dead. The guy my dead ex-girlfriend left me for is dead.

He was in the hospital. A few weeks ago-- on June 23, according to the news report-- he was admitted. Car accident. Apparently, the night before, his breaks had been mysteriously cut.

A few days ago they found him in his hospital bed. He'd been stabbed and injected with multiple syringes, containing multiple medicines and chemicals.

Jess is going to see Harry Potter tonight. I gave her a chain and padlock and told her to chain my door shut when she gets home. I told her I was having problems with sleep-walking. She seemed concerned, but she agreed. That's good.

I hope it will be enough.

Syringe

There was a used syringe in my hand.

I woke up, and there was a used syringe in my hand.

I was holding it. In my sleep. Why do I have a used syringe?

What. The. Fuck?

Candle Cove

That was the name of that old show. I remember now.

It's been years since I've seen it. I wonder what if I can find any old episodes on youtube?

Nightmares

I've been having more of those dreams. You know, the ones where I walk around the apartment with no control over myself while a woman in a wooden mask watches? They're getting more frequent, and weirder. The other day I dreamed that I was being lifted into the air by invisible strings, and I flew over the couches until I was lowered, and I couldn't move and could crumple down onto the carpet, unable to even blink even though my eyes stung. My eyes stayed wide open and they stung and I could not blink.

Last night's somehow managed to top even that one in the weirdness scale. I dreamed that as I was stepping out of my room, I could see a line of... well, I would say "insects" but that would be inaccurate. "Arthropods" then. Flies and wasps and spiders and centipedes and roaches and cicadas and fireflies and grasshoppers and crickets and dragonflies... every single kind of "bug" that lives nearby. They formed a line and they were moving into Jess' room. I wanted to look inside and see if she was alright, but my neck and head wouldn't move, and I felt my feet carrying me away from it.

This morning she was fine and I was fine.

But her other rat was dead.

Problems

Yesterday I walked into my room to find my computer turned on, with some blog on the screen. It had a comment that I had left on it.

I don't remember leaving that comment. I certainly don't remember ever reading that blog. It was one of those "slenderman" things. Apparently, it's some sort of public domain horror monster that a bunch of people like to write blogs about and pretend is real. I don't know how this account left that comment on that blog. Jess denies having anything to do with it.

God I'm tired. I was so freaked out that I had trouble sleeping, and I also think I was hearing things. Last night my ears were filled with a sound like two stones sliding against one another. A constant grinding that seemed to flow all around me, boring into my mind.

Hardly any sleep at all. So tired...

Some Old Show

I remember where I've seen that puppet before!

There was this old TV show I used to watch when I was little. Can't remember what it's called, but I remember puppets. They were pirate puppets. And they were friends with this girl. I remember that the puppets and the girl were afraid of this other puppet. He was a skeleton who stole skin or something. Because he had no skin of his own I think.

That's where I know the puppet from. It's that skeleton guy from that old show!

Wow. He looks pretty creepy for a kid's toy.

Puppet

When I got home from work today, there was this puppet sitting in front of my apartment's door. This weird little string puppet (I can't remember what they're called. Msomething).

I think one of those kids is playing some strange prank on me. I'm not sure what to do with it, so I just stuffed it in my closet. Jess thinks it's creepy. For once I agree with her. It's shaped like a skeleton, wearing a weird fabric for its clothes.

What really gets me, though, is that it seems so familiar for some reason.
